In the northern hemisphere why are the south facing sides of buildings often warmer

this is beacuse the Suns rays fall fall perpendicular between the tropics and beacuse the tropics are south of the northern hemisphere so it can be said that the suns rays are falling from south to north and therefore the southern sides of buildings in the northern hemisphere experience direct sun rays and are hence warmer
