In the number 98* 0471, replace *by the smallest digit to make it divisible

If the difference of the sum of alternative digits of a number is a multiple of 11 or is 0 then that number is divisible by 11 completely.

Sum of the digits in odd place = 1 + 4 + * + 9 = 14 + ?

Sum of the digits in even place = 7 + 0 + 8 = 15

Difference = 15 - 14 = 1

So, as mentioned earlier to make it divisible by 11 it should be either a multiple of 11 or 0 and the closest here seems to be 0. Thus we should be adding 1 to make it divisible by 11.

14 + ? = 14 + 1 = 15

Thus the difference is 15 - 15 = 0
