In the parallelogram ABCD ,AE and AF are heights corresponding to the sides BC and CD respectively . If the area of the parallelogram is 1200 sq cm and AE and AF are respectively 40cm and 60 cm , find the length of the sides of the parallelogram.

given ,
heights=as(40cm)and af(60cm)
area of parallelogram=1200cm²
=>base x height =1200cm²
for height ae,
=>b x ae=1200cm²
=>b x 40cm=1200cm²
=>b=1200cm²/40cm
=>b=30cm
for height af
=>b x af=1200cm²
=>b x 60cm= 1200cm²
=> b = 1200cm²/60cm
=>b=20cm
therefore the length of the parallelogram are : 30cm and 20 cm
