Answer:
Parasitic Nutrition: This mode of nutrition is the characteristic of parasites. The parasites live on of inside the body of their hosts. So, the parasites are dependent either wholly of partially on the host for nutrition e.g., plasmodium, liver flukes, Cuscuta, Ascaris etc. There are two types of parasitic plants.
(i) Holo Parasitic: Those which completely depend on Nutrition, Example: Orobanki. This is found on the roots of potato, tomato and brinjal plant.
(ii) Partial Parasitic: Some plant partially depend on other, are called the partial parasite. Example: Sandal plant.
Saprophytic nutrition: In this mode of nutrition, the organisms feed on the dead decaying organic matter. Organisms like fungi(yeasts, moulds, mushrooms) and many bacteria take dissolved decaying organic materials from their environment. The organism releases some enzymes to digest the dead organic food and then the nutrients are absorbed through the body surface.
