when you pass current from resistors current flow from 1 to 2nd resistor and 2nd to 3rd resistors... if from any one resistors current will not pass then it doesn't go to 2nd resistors..

for example 3 bulbes in series if 1st bulb affect and doesn't light then others are no too...

& in parallel current divided into equal parts..

so that if affected any one resistors then it doesn't affect to other resistors..

If u look at the circuit diagram given below the current flowing through 20 10 and 10 ohms is the same hence they are in series
