If the father were to show any form of neglect or abuse towards the girls i see why, but if it were for no reason and that the father showed unconditional affection and displayed support towards them I cannot see why. Although if you have read far enough in the play that you can understand their process of thought and to see the character development in the girls there may have been a valid point to why they are not concerned for their father.
