in the poem ice and fire... how destruction caused by ice would be severe than fire​

According to the poet Robert Frost if fire would not able to destroy the earth then the ice will be sufficient.

Ice which refers to the cold behaviour against the people, selfishness will destroy the earth in slow process but the destruction will be harsh, severe.
