in the poem Not Marble nor the gilded monuments the poet focus on the power of poetry and pure love to defeat the ravages of time what an obvious enmity. The poet is fully confident for his poem that all the gilded monuments and statues will destroy one day but the poetry of the poet will remain in the hearts of people till the dooms day.
