The speaker was under a tree . It was probably winter and there was snow on the tree , an evergreen pine tree called hemlock. And a crow was happened to send some dust down on the man .

The speaker because of snow dust falling on him finds himself partially relieved - his day just got a whole lot better - the event somehow allowing him to see life from a different angle.

The message is clear enough that sometimes seemingly insignificant natural events do bring about changes.
