in the process of electroplating, a thin plate of pure zinc and a thick rod of impure zinc zinc are taken as electrodes and zinc sulphate solution is taken as electrolyte. Zinc from the impure rod needs to be transferred to the pure zinc plate. which electrode needs to be the positive terminal of battery and why

Anode(+) is attached to the impure zinc metal as zinc atoms present in the electrode loses electron and they tend to migrate towards the cathode
