In the process of purification of copper, which electrode should be connected to the positive terminal of battery and why?

For purification of copper in the process of electrolysis we can keep copper in anode and in cathode we can keep iron and as a solution we can keep copper sulphate solution. So when the iron would displace copper, the purification will occur

Impure copper should be connected to the positive terminal of battery because it loses electrons and passes into solution as soluble copper ions. Gradually the impure copper gets finished and the pure copper becomes thicker and thicker thus copper is purified.
