Attachment.a) 2nd part b) 2 method

Given :-

  • N2 gas liberated from 0.42 gm

  • Volume of N2 gas collected was100/11 ml at total pressure 860 mm Hg at 250 K

To Find :-

%by mass of nitrogen in the organic compound .

Solution :-

The volume of dry nitrogen at STP is Vo =

\dfrac{P1V1}{T1} × \dfrac{To}{Po}

 =  \dfrac{(860 - 24) \times  \dfrac{10}{11} }{250}  \times \dfrac{273}{760}

10.92 ml

Percentage by mass of nitrogen =

 \dfrac{28 \timesVo\times 100}    {22400 \times \: m}

 \dfrac{28 \times10.92\times 100}{22400 \times \:0.42 }

\dfrac{10}{3} %

▶ The % by mass of nitrogen in the organic compound is Option.a \dfrac{10}{3} %.

➡Option A. 10/3 %

Second part not clear due to latex error,

So it refers to the attachment .
