Given Chemical reaction:

                                 2SO₂    +      O₂       →      2SO₃

                                2 mole         1 mole          2 mole

If we take only one mole of SO₂ . Reaction depends upon limiting reagent (reactant finished first) .

                  2 mole of SO₂  produces =  2 mole of SO₃

                 1 mole of SO₂  will produce =  1 mole of SO₃

 Therefore, on adding one mole of SO₂ in one mole of O₂. We get only one mole of SO₃.
