3Mg+N2=Mg3N2

The magnesium is oxidized

Nitrogen is reduced

How means in reactant side mg oxidation number is 0.

Coming to product side the oxidation number is +2 .

Here the oxidation number is increased. so mg is oxidized

Coming to nitrogen, in reactant side the oxidation number is 0 .

In product side the oxidation number is -3.here the oxidation number is decreased.

So nitrogen is reduced

Mg is oxidized and N is reduced.
