In the reaction,
4NH3(g) + 502(g) → 4NO(g) + 6H2O(1)
when 1 mole of ammonia and 1 mole of O2 are
made to react to completion
(1) All the oxygen will be consumed
(2) 1.0 mole of NO will be produced
(3) 1.0 mole of H2O is produced
(4) All the ammonia will be consumed.

Answer:

4) All of oxygen will be consumed

Explanation:

Lets solve this problem by eliminating options

=> Let us divide the given reaction by

4, We get:-

NH3+(5/4)O2 --> NO+(3/2)H2O

=> So we infer that for 1 mole of NO2, we require 1.25 moles of O2 which produces 1 mole of NO

=> Since we only have 1 mole of O2, all of O2 is consumed to give (1/1.25) moles of NO and this requires (1/1.25) moles of NO2

=> So option A is wrong, since we consume only 0.8 moles of NO2

And similarly we get only 0.8 moles of NO as product

And option C is wrong because we get (6/5) moles of H2O rather than 1 mole

=> So option D is correct ✓✓ :D

Hope this answer helped you ✌
