In the reaction 8Al + 3Fe304 +4A1203 + 9Fe, the

In this reaction,Al is oxidized by oxidant Fe from 0 to +3 oxidation state while Fe is reduced by reductant Al with oxidation state from +8/3 to 0.

Thus 24 electrons are transfered from reductant Al to oxidant Fe....

In case of Al ...on left side of equation it has 0 oxidation state and on right side has +3 as

2x+3(-2)=0

2x-6=0 => x=+6/2

x=+3

As there are 4 Al2O3,so 8 Al in it....thus

8×3=24

Its means Al loses 24 electrons and Fe also gains 24 electrons.
