There is no free and fair electoral competition in China because it is a communist country where power is monopolized by the Communist Party.

Democracy is based on free and fair electoral competition. Two cases of China and Mexico where elections are held regularly but results were known beforehand. While in a democracy it is necessary to hold free and fair election which is absent in cases of both the countries.
a) China
- In China, people vote for electing the parliament called National People's Congress.
- However, for contesting election a candidate must have the approval of the communist party of China.

- Mexico got its independence in 1930 and election were held after regular interval to elect President.
