This relation is also know by the name Lorentz force.

  • It is based on one rule that is right hand thumb rule.
  • Here all the three quantities that are force, velocity and magnetic field are acting perpendicular to each other.
  • The thumb represents the velocity, the fingers represents the direction of magnetic field and force acting on the body.
  • It also depends upon the positive and negative charges.
  • If it is positive then the direction of velocity be upward and when negative it is downward.
