Let's consider an one side open tube in which the experiment is being conducted.

So, general expression of length at which resonance will occur will be :

L =  \dfrac{(2x + 1)  \lambda}{4}

 \implies  \lambda =  \dfrac{4L}{2x + 1}

Now, frequency will be :

 \therefore \: n =  \dfrac{v}{ \lambda}

 \implies \: n \propto \dfrac{1}{L}
