Answer :

  • Length of the hypotenuse is 15cm

Given :

  • Base = 9cm
  • Height = 12cm

To find :

  • Length of hypotenuse

Solution :

In the right angles triangle,

As we know that .

Pythagoras theorem,

  • (H)² = (B)² + (H)²

where, h is hypothenuse, b is base 9cm and h is height 12cm

》(Hypothenuse)² = (Base)² + (Height)²

》(Hypothenuse)² = (9)² + (12)²

》(Hypothenuse)² = 81 + 144

》 (Hypothenuse)² = 225

》Hypotenuse = √225

》Hypothenuse = 15cm

Hence , Length of the hypotenuse is 15cm

Given :

  • Perpendicular (P) = 9cm
  • Base (B) = 12cm

 \\

To Find :

  • Hypotenuse (H)

 \\

Solution :

✰ As we know that, If Perpendicular and Base are given then we can easily find the Hypotenuse by using Pythagoras theorem. Now, Pythagoras Theorem states that (Hypotenuse)² = (Perpendicular)² + (Base)² . So we will put the given values in the formula to find the Hypotenuse.

⠀⠀⠀

⠀⠀⠀⟼⠀⠀⠀(Hypotenuse)² = (P)² + (B)²

⠀⠀⠀⟼⠀⠀⠀(Hypotenuse)² = (9)² + (12)²

⠀⠀⠀⟼⠀⠀⠀(Hypotenuse)² = 81 + 144

⠀⠀⠀⟼⠀⠀⠀(Hypotenuse)² = 225

⠀⠀⠀⟼⠀⠀⠀ Hypotenuse = √225

⠀⠀⠀⟼⠀⠀⠀ Hypotenuse = 15cm

Thus Hypothenuse is 15cm
