In the story “two gentlemen of Verona “ it is said that the boys are among the first to join the resistance against the Germans, but aren’t they like kids.? How does that make sense. Moreover which war is being talked about here world war 1 or 2 ?

According to me first of all it's a fiction and second thing the writer was born in year 1896 and died in1974 and first world war take place in1914 to 1918 so he is not much than 18 year so he can't write in this age so this story is based on 2nd world war.

sanjana779: yaar ye story post world war pe based hai
sanjana779: just check it out
rohitvarth: Its actually neither WW2 or WW1 , Germans never invaded Verona although they bombarded it,P.S- I know this is getting kind of awkward so let’s end this.
sanjana779: as u say
sanjana779: thik dekh lege
sanjana779: sorry just kidding
sanjana779: don't take it seriously

Hey!

Here is your answer:

It is not important that if someone is participating in war, he/she is going to fight with enemies.

In this story, it is possible that they provided help to the participants in wars by providing first-aid or anything else

World War 1 is being talked about here.

Hope this helps ✌

rohitvarth: How can you tell definitively that the war referred to here is WW1 ?
sarthakdude: Laks where are other talking
sarthakdude: Ohh teri prep ho gayi @lakshita
