Evaporation of water from the surface of clothes makes them dry, this process gets accelerated in summer due to the following reasons:
- The atmospheric air is dry-means it contains lower amount of humidity per cubic meter than its saturated value. Thus, air is thirsty to absorb water vapor coming out of clothes. In monsoon, air is saturated in terms of its moisture content and therefore, evaporation from surfaces of clothes is the minimum.
- In summer, in general wind speed is higher and thus it helps in removing the moist air from the surface of clothes.
- Higher is the temperature, higher will be the rate of evaporation.
