In temperate zone wheat, millets and wild rice are grown...

WHEAT

⭕️wheat is the second most important food crop in the country after rice.

⭕️It grows best in cool,moist climate and ripens in warm, dry climate.

⭕️It is harvested by the end of January in south, April in Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra..

⭕️Wheat grows best in well drained loams and clay loams i. e in black and alluvial soil.

MILLETS( jowar, Bajra, Ragi)

✔️JOWAR

¤ both karif and rabi crop.
¤ it can be grown in alluvial as well as sandy soil.
¤ the crop matures in four to five months.

✔️BAJRA

¤ it is short season kharif crop.
¤ bajra is grown red as well as black soil.
¤ Season : June-July(sowing..... September - October (harvesting)

✔️ RAGI

¤ ragi is grown mainly in areas of dry farming.
¤ it is grown in red, black and sandy loams..
¤ season : May - August ( sowing)... September -January (harvesting )

RICE

⭕️grown in clayey or loamy soil..

⭕️ season :

Upland rice : march -april ( sowing).... September -October (harvesting )

Lowland rice : June (sowing)... October (harvesting)
