Wilson refused to recognize the Mexican government of General Victoriano Huerta because (A) Huerta and his followers arrested and killed American sailors in 1914.

  • Wilson believed and described Huerta's government the government murder as its President got killed by his own military. He felt that this government was such which was holding the power but it did not realize in real how actually got the power.
  • Wilson was a firm believer in the protection o human rights and was against the dictatorship of Huerta.
  • He even helped the opposition and supported them with mutinies against Huerta.
  • His main aim was to remove Huerta from the rule and get those powers.
  • He was successful through his Tampico Affair in the establishment of Huerta's government which was possible because he supported the ones who were in oppressing him and were against him.
  • Later as Huerta was defeated, he fled to Spain and later was arrested for the rebellion he carried out.
