In the trapezium, parallel sides of a trapezium 10 m, 25m non parallel sides of a trapezium is 13m, 14m. find the area of trapezium

area of trapezium = 1 /2 × height ×(sum of parallel side)

Answer:

Let ABCD be a trapezium where ABllCD.

AB = 10m        AD = 13m

CD = 25m       BC = 14m

Join pt. A to 'E' on CD such that AEllBC.

Find the area of the triangle so formed using Herons Formula.

Using the now found Base and area of the triangle, find the height of the triangle which is also the altitude of the parallelogram.

Find the area of the parallelogram (b x h) and add the area of the triangle to the area of parallelogram.

You will get the area of Trapezium.
