Number = 72

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:

  • In a two digit number units digit is 5 less than the tens digit.
  • Whole number is 8 times the sum of digits.

To Find:

  • What is the number ?

Solution: Let the tens digit be x and units digit be y. Therefore, the whole number will be 10x + y.

Also,

Units digit = 5 less than tens digit

y = (x – 5).......1

Now A/q

  • Whole number is 8 times the sum of digits.

\implies{\rm } 10x + y = 8(x + y)

\implies{\rm } 10x + (x 5) = 8x + 8y

\implies{\rm } 10x + x 5 = 8x + 8(x 5)

\implies{\rm } 11x 5 = 8x + 8x 40

\implies{\rm } 11x 5 + 40 = 16x

\implies{\rm } 35 = 16x 11x

\implies{\rm } 35 = 5x

\implies{\rm } 35/5 = x

\implies{\rm } 7 = x

So the digits of whole number is

• Tens digit is x = 7 and units digit is y = x – 5 = 7 – 5 = 2

And the number is 10x + y

10(7) + 2

70 + 2

72

Hence, the required number is 72.

Given :-

  • In a two digit number, The units digit is 5 less then the ten digit.

  • The whole number is 8 times sum of the digit.

To Find :-

  • The Number.

Solution :-

Let,

The tens digit be x.

The units digit be y.

The whole number will become,

10x + y.

It is given that,

y = (x-5)

Now, According To Question,

The Equation Formed:-

10x + y = 8(x + y).

➭10x + y = 8x + y.

Put Value Of y.

➭10x + x - 5 = 8x + 8(x - 5)

➭11x - 5 = 8x + 8x - 40.

➭11x - 16x = -40 + 5.

➭-5x = -35.

➭x = 7.

Now, y = x - 5.

y = 7 - 5 = 2.

So, The Number Formed:-

10x + y.

➭10(7) + 2.

➭70 + 2.

➭72.

Hence, 72 is the required number.
