In thermodynamics we basically deal with the real gases .This is because the thermodynamics laws will shorten on dealing with ideal gases.

Answer:

(1) Ideal gas :

  • (1) A gas that follows strictly all the three laws namely Boyle's law, Charles' law, Avogadro'snlaw and ideal gas equation (PV = nRT) is called an ideal gas.
  • (2) There are no interactive forces between the gas molecules.
  • (3) The molecular volume is negligibly small compared to the volume occupied by the gas

(2) Real gas :

  • (1) A gas which does not obey gas laws or an ideal gas equation is called a real gas. Practically almost all gases are real gases but they tend towards an ideal behaviour at low pressure and high temperature
  • (2) The intermolecular forces are not negligible.
