From Act I, scene V, Lady Macbeth revealed about Macbeth that he lacks courage and at the same time he has moral scruples. It is because, Macbeth thinks himself to be ambitious, but assumes that he does not have that capability that will take to use his ambition to gain something. Moreover, he wants to do things in a holy manner without cheating or playing with others, but he does not want something that should not be his. Therefore, basically he wants to become the king but he thinks that he does not at all have that passion to make it happen.
