In this figure, OAQB is a quadrant of a circle

of radius 7 cm and APB is a semicircle. Find

the area of the shaded region.​

in right angled triangle AOB,

(AB)^2=(AO)^2+(OB)^2

AB^2=(7)^2+(7)^2

AB^2=49+49

AB^2=98

AB=9.89(approx)

R=AB/2

R=9.89/2

R=4.945

area of shaded region = area of semicircle ABP - area of quadrant OAQB

=πR- πR*1/4

=πR(1-1/4)

=22/7*4.945(3/4)

=15.54(approx)(0.75)

=11.655 sq.cm
