So, by linear pair

x + y = 180

5y/4 + y = 180

5y + 4y = 180 x 4

9y = 720

y = 720/9

y = 80

put the value of y in equation (1)

x = 5 x 80 / 4

x = 400 / 4

x = 100

Hence, the value of x = 100. It means the correct option is (a).
