2y =  - 3x - 4 \\ y =  \frac{ - 3x - 4}{2}  \\ y =  \frac{ - 3}{2} x -  \frac{4}{2}  \\  \\ y =  -  \frac{3}{2} x - 2 \\

Now compare with the general eq . of line

y = mx + c

Here m is called gradient or slope of line...

Hence gradient =

 \frac{ - 3}{2}  \\
