1) m< BOA = x° / 2°

m< BOC = 5° ( x° / 2° - 1° )

m< COD = x° + 9° = m< FOE ( because

alternative angles )

Now,

m< BOA + m< BOC + m< COD = 180 ( because lying all the angles are lying on a straight line )

x° / 2° + 5° ( x° / 2° - 1° ) + x° + 9° = 180°

x° / 2° + 5° ( x° - 2° / 2° ) + x° + 9° = 180°

x° / 2° + 5x° - 10° / 2° + x° + 9° = 180°

x° + 5x° - 10° / 2° + x° + 9° = 180°

6x° - 10° / 2° + x° + 9° = 180°

3x° - 5° + x° + 9° = 180°

3x° + x° + 9° - 5° = 180°

4x° + 4° = 180°

4x° = 180° - 4°

x° = 176° / 4°

x° = 44°

Now,

m< BOA = x° / 2° = 44° / 2° = 22°

m< BOC = 5° ( x° / 2° - 1° ) = 5° ( 44° / 2° - 1° )

= 5° ( 44° - 2° / 2° )

= 5° ( 42° / 2 )

= 5° ( 21° ) = 105°

m< COD = x° + 9° = 44° + 9 ° = 53° = m< FOE

2) m< OFE = a

m< FEO = b

m< FOE = 53° = m< COD

Now,

m< OFE + m< FEO + m< FOE = 180°

( because lying all the angles are lying on a straight line )

a + b + 53° = 180°

a + b = 180° - 53°

a + b = 127°
