In.this question,we hv to find AD..we have taken triangle AED why not AOD as we know all the values in it...But if we take value of AOD in it my answer is coming wrong where AO=13cm,OD=8cm .

But triangle AOD is not a right angled triangle.

So, Pythagoras Theorem will not work... if u tried taking triangle AOD your answer will come wrong only.

Triangle AED is right angled triangle so they took that triangle.
