What happens is that, harris thinks of himself as someone who knows everything so supposedly he was sure that he knew the way through the maze at hampton court and when others thought it was hard to figure the way out of the maze, harris thought they were stupid to not know the way out because he thought that it was very easy to get out. so it was once when he went into the maze to try out the directions and on the way he met with several people who were stuck in the maze and so he told them that if they wished to get out of the maze, they could follow harris as he was so confident about him getting out, so in the end he had about 20 people following him and so they went on and on for so long that some people lost hope of ever getting out of the maze, some people noticed that they were actually going through the same place over and over again and blamed harris and told everyone that he was an impostor but harris still believed that his map is correct and finally after harris gave up,they had to call out to a new worker there to help them get out so the worker went inside and he himself got lost. so after a long time an old worker came back from his dinner and so then they all were able to get out of the maze, harris is telling this to the author,i.e.,jim, and is suggesting to take george there one day.
hope i didnt get anything wrong :)
