Answer :

ED = 2

Step-by-step explanation :

Hey Mate,

Given Data : BD is median. ( So, AD = 4 and CD = 4 )

BE is altitude from vertex B.

A= 7 ; B = 8 ; C = 9.

Solution :

From Triangle ABD

Cos A = (4² + 9² - BD²) / (2 ×  4 × 9)

From Triangle ABC

Cos A = (8² + 9² - 7²) / (2 ×  8 × 7)

So, the value of BD² is 7². (BD = 7)

where triangle BCD is isosceles.

Therefore,

ED = 1/2 of CD

ED = 2
