Answer:

 a |\

    |   \

b  |___\  c

ABC is a triangle, and we know the length of bc and ab

We all know that Hypotenuse² = Perpendicular² + Base²

So, ab² + bc² = ac²

ac = √( ab² + bc² )

According to the question ab = 2.5 cm and bc = 6 cm

here, ab = perpendicular, bc = base and ac = Hypotenuse

therefore, the length of ac is √( 2.5² + 6² ) =  6.5 cm

From the given options, AC cannot be 3.4 cm .

Answer - (Option A)

Given:

In triangle abc, ab=2.5cm and bc=6cm

To find:

The length of ac

Solution:

Ina triangle, the sum of two sides must be greater than the third side,

Consider, (i) AB + BC <AC

2.5 + 6 > AC

8.5 > AC …(1)

(ii) AB +AC > BC

2.5 + AC > 6

AC > 3.5 …(2)

From (1) and (2), 3.5 < AC < 8.5

From the given options, AC cannot be 3.4 cm

Result:

AC cannot be 3.4 cm.
