In triangle ABC,AB=5cm,BC=8cm and CA=7cm if Dand E are respectively the mid point AB and BC ,dertmine the lenght of DE

Given a triangle abc with AB=5 cm BC =8cm and AC=7 cm with D And E as mid points od AB and BC respectively.

Using the mid point theorem the line joining the two mid points is parallel to the third side and equal to half of it.

Therefore DE = 1/2 AC

DE=1/2 * 7

DE=3.5 cm
