In triangle ABC , AD is perpendicular to BC , angle c =45° . BD =5 . AD=8 root 2 . find AD and BC.



please solve by 90°-45°-45° theorem ​

triangle ADC is isoceles,

given angle ACD=45°, angle ADC=90°

Therefore angle CAD=45° (by angle sum property of triangle)

hence AD=DC

given AD=8√2 and BD=5

so, CD=8√2

therefore BC=5+8√2=16.312
