In triangle ABC,

angle ABC = 90*,

Triangle ABC is right angled triangle and BD is perpendicular to hypotenuse AC,

AD = 3 cm,

DC = 7 cm,

By the theorem of geometric mean,

BD^2 = AD X AC

BD^2 = 3 X 7

BD^2 = 21

BD = √21.
