△ ABC is a right-angled triangle.

By Pythagoras theorem,

AC² = BC² + AB²

⇒13² = BC² + 12²

⇒BC² = 13² - 12²

⇒BC² = 169 - 144

⇒BC² = 25

⇒BC = √25

⇒BC = 5 cm

Given :-

  • Hypotenuse (AC) = 13cm
  • Perpendicular (AB) = 12cm
  • Angle B = 90°

 \\

To Find :-

  • Base (BC)

 \\

Solution :-

❏ As it is a Right Angled Triangle so, we will apply Pythagoras Theorem to find the Base(BC).

Putting the Values :

⟹⠀⠀(H)² = (P)² + (B)²

⟹⠀⠀(AC)² = (AB)² + (BC)²

⟹⠀⠀(13)² = (12)² + (BC)²

⟹⠀⠀169 = 144 + (BC)²

⟹⠀⠀169 - 144 = (BC)²

⟹⠀⠀25 = (BC)²

⟹⠀⠀√25 = BC

⟹⠀⠀5cm = BC

Thus, Base (BC) of the Triangle = 5cm
