in triangle abc angle b is right angle and BD is an altitude on AC if AB is equals to 8 and BC is equals to 6 then find BD

here is your answer
in triangle ABC (right angled at B)
by using pythagoras theorem
AC^2 =AB^2+BC^2
AC^2= 64×36
AC^2=100
AC=10 units
now
area of triangle ⬇⬇⬇
area = height \times base \times  \frac{1}{2}  \\  = 8 \times 6 \times  \frac{1}{2}  \\  = 24 {units}^{2}
now again area⬇⬇⬇
24 = height \times 10 \times  \frac{1}{2}  \\ 4.8unit = height
so the length of BD=4.8 units
