in triangle ABC D and E are points on AB and AC if AB = 14 cm AD = 3.5 cm AC= 2.5 cm AC=10cm show that DE is parallel to BC​

Answer:

in triangle ABC

AD=3.5cm

AB=14cm

AE=2.5cm

AC=10cm

then BD = AB-AD

BD=14-3.5

BD=10.5cm

and EC = AC-AE

EC=10-2.5

EC=7.5cm

AD/BD=3.5/10.5

AD/BD=1/3

AE/EC=2.5/7.5

AE/EC=1/3

then AD/BD=AE/EC

it is only possible when DE is parallel to BC

therefore DE is parallel to BC
