In the Δ ADE and Δ ABC

Angle A is common

∠ ADE ≈ ∠ ABC ( corresponding angles )

Therefore by A. A similar condition

so AD ÷ AB = DE ÷ BC

2 ÷ 5 = DE ÷ BC

So the DE : BC is equal to 2 : 5
