∴ AB / AD = AC / AE
⇒ ((AD + DB) / AD) = ((AE / EC) / AE) .... (∵ AB = AD + DB and AC = AE + EC)
⇒ 1 + (DB / AD) = 1 + (EC / AE)
⇒ (DB / AD) = EC / AE
⇒ (AD / DB) = AE / EC .....(by taking reciprocals)
Hence, AD / DB = AE / EC
