Given:-

  • AB and BC of triangle ABC are equal.
  • ∠B = 70°.

To find:-

  • ∠A of triangle ABC.

Solution:-

If, AB = BC

Then, their opposite angles are also equal beacuse we know if two sides of triangle are equal then their opposite angles are also equal.

So, ∠A = ∠C.

Let, ∠A = ∠C = x.

∠B = 70°

We know that,

Sum of all interior angles of triangle is 180°. This property is also known as 'Angle sum property of triangle'.

So,

⇒x + x + 70° = 180°

⇒2x + 70° = 180°

⇒2x = 180° - 70°

⇒2x = 110°

⇒x = 110°/2

x = 55°

We have taken x to be ∠A and ∠C

So, ∠A = ∠C = 55°

Therefore,

∠A of triangle ABC is 55°.
