given angle CDB=90°, angle DCB=ACB/2=90°/2=45°

then angle CBD=180°-(45°+90°)=45°

Now,In right angled triangle CDB,

tan B=CD/BC. (tan=Perpendicular/Base

tan45°=CD/3

1=CD/3

CD=3
