in triangle ABC , Point P is on side BC such that BP =28,PC = 49 and ray AP is angle bisector of angle BAC . find AB:AC​

Answer:

Lets first draw the figure (given in the file attached below)

BP =28,

PC = 49.

Now, to prove AB:AC, We need to use angle bisector theorem.

AC/CP=AB/BP............................(According to angle bisector theorem)

AC/49=AB/28

Cross multiply.

AC/AB=49/28

Simplify 49 by 28

you will get 7/4.

AC/AB=7/4.

Since we need AB/AC, not AC/AB, we reciprocal the terms on both sides of the equation.

AB/AC=4/7.

∴AB:AC=4:7.
