in∆ABD and∆ACD

angle BAD= angleCAD(given)

AD=AD(common)

angle BDA= angleCDA(AD is perpendicular to BC)

therefore

∆ABD~= ∆ACD(by ASA congurence)

AB=AC(by CPCT)
