Given:

In Triangle ABC

Length of BC = a

Length of CA = b

Length of AB = c

AD ⊥ BC

To Find:

Value of b

Solution:

According to the properties of triangle

b²  = a²  + c²  - 2ac . 2c/x

b²  = a²  + c²  - 4c²

b²  = a²  - 3c²

Therefore,

b = √a² - 3c²

Answer: The value of b is √ a² - 3c²
