in triangle ABC the point D and E are on the side AB and AC respectively such that AD=5.7 ,BD=9.5,AE=3.3 and EC=5.5 is DE is parallel to Be? write reasons

It is because of converse of thales theorem .

Check it :-

AB/BD = 5.7/9.5 = 3/5 -----(i)

and ,

AE/AC = 3.3/5.5 = 3/5 ------(ii)

in eq(i) & eq(ii) , we see that ratio of sides are equal .

So by converse of thales theorem , we can say that DE//BC .
